Guardian Materials

Ruins, structures, and obelisks. Gather the exact blueprint, component, or data a Tech Broker recipe asks for — no trader.

01

What Guardian Materials Are

Guardian

Guardian components and data sit in your manufactured and encoded inventories, but the counter will not convert them. They have a rarity grade and the same caps — you gather the exact piece a Tech Broker (Tech Broker: A station contact that unlocks modules a shipyard will not stock, paid for in materials.) recipe asks for, and nothing trades down into it.

Everything comes from active Guardian sites: ruins and structures. Destructible panels and destroyed Sentinels drop the components; obelisks scan into the pattern data; and each site hands out one class of blueprint fragment. Relog (Logging out and back in to rebuild the instance, so a picked-over site respawns its loot.) the site to reset it.

Gather in Solo. Only one commander can pick up a given Guardian drop per site instance. Solo removes the competition and makes relogging (Logging out and back in to rebuild the instance, so a picked-over site respawns its loot.) clean.

What to Fit

Ship

Guardian sites bite back — Sentinels wake and shoot. Bring something that can land, drop an SRV (Surface Recon Vehicle: The wheeled buggy you drive on planet surfaces. Needs a Planetary Vehicle Hangar.), and survive a few turrets.

Planetary Vehicle Hangar + SRV

The SRV (Surface Recon Vehicle: The wheeled buggy you drive on planet surfaces. Needs a Planetary Vehicle Hangar.) drives the ruins, shoots panels and Sentinels, and scans obelisks. A second SRV bay saves a trip back if one gets wrecked.

Point defence + a shield

Sentinels launch missiles. A point-defence utility and a basic shield keep the site from chewing you up.

Detailed Surface Scanner

First visit only, to pin the Guardian structure signal on the body.

Cap your frame rate. Guardian drops sometimes launch into space on spawn. The physics tick appears tied to frame rate — capping it lower makes the fragments stay put long enough to scoop.

Blueprint Fragments

Unlocks

Guardian blueprint fragments come in three forms — Weapon, Module, and Vessel — and each active site provides only one. Pick the site that matches what you are unlocking. These are the AXI-recommended sites.

Blueprints unlock, they don't stack. You need fragments once per unlock, not by the hundred. Grab what the recipe lists, then move to the component sites below.

Components & Data

Sources

Beyond blueprints, recipes eat Guardian Technology Components and Pattern Data. Both drop at random at general sites, so it pays to visit spots built for volume.

4 obelisks clustered together

Guardian Technology Components are thin at most ruins yet demanded by many modules — the eight-spawn site fills roughly 24 in one run. Pattern Data drops at random from any active obelisk, so a four-obelisk cluster cuts the relog (Logging out and back in to rebuild the instance, so a picked-over site respawns its loot.) count. Individual material drop locations live on the Canonn (Canonn Interstellar Research Group: The community research group that maps Guardian sites and alien phenomena.) site maps.

Use the Canonn (Canonn Interstellar Research Group: The community research group that maps Guardian sites and alien phenomena.) maps. Every active ruin and structure is mapped with its panels, Sentinels, and obelisks. Check the exact material a recipe needs against the map before you fly out.
